Camera Raw/Lightroom: Option to bypass preview for HDR

The preview for HDR is nice, but it would be great if we could disable that part of the process.

Right now I'm working on HDR panoramas, so waiting almost twice as long isn't great. Here I only need to see a preview once to make sure everything is set right, then continue on with the actual merge of each five image set for the pano.

Thank you!

Headless mode bypasses the preview screens.

Select your bracketed images (or pano images of your choice), then press Shift-Ctrl-H on Mac or Shift-Alt-H on Windows (for HDR, or use M at the end instead for panos)

I think it does what you are looking for.

Superb! Thank you, I didn't know about that..

Now I still have an issue, though. When I use either Ctrl+H or Ctrl+Shift+H, it says the images cannot be merged. However, it works if I do it manually by right clicking then Photo Merge>HDR.

Any ideas what might be going on there?

Update: Deleted the LR preferences and created a new catalog, same problem.

I haven't run across that issue Benjamin. If you wanted to share the specific files with me, I would be happy to test it.

Thanks, Rikk. Here are the files: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8eeyf04jan...

I should mention I get a similar error when using the headed mode (Ctrl+H). I tried setting the master photo as the first of the set as well as last. Nothing changed. I'll add screen shots of the errors in a new reply

I noted that you said you deleted Lightroom Preferences. Did you use the new LR6/CC method or the old way?

New way:

Close Lightroom
Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] and launch Lightroom
Overwrite/Delete Preferences when prompted by the dialog.

I used the old method - manually deleting preference files.

I forgot to check back last night. I went to try Ctrl+Shift+H again and it mysteriously worked, though I had not changed anything. Just to be sure, I tried several other images and it worked every time.

I would have loved to know what exactly was causing the issue. Oh well, we'll never know now.

Thanks for the info about the new reset! Gave it a try then tested Headless HDR - still working correctly. Great!

Thank you very much for all the info and help, Rikk!
