Lightroom 9.1 freezes when Preferences are either (a) opened
or (b) opened and Store Presets in this Catelog is checked (other changes onother tabs are accepted).  (b) is the morecommon behavior.  Prior to this issuedeveloping, I had always checked Store Presets with the Catalog and this optionis still in effect when I go to edit.

Unsuccessful solutions tested so far (with multiple restartsat each step):

-       Changing the number format

-       Running Lightroom as Administrator

-       Deleting the Preferences

-       Editing the Preferences with full read and writepermissions, changing useAutoBahn = and useGPUCompute = true to false

-       Deleting and reinstalling Lightroom

-       Deleting Lightroom, running CC Clear (choosingthe All option), and then reinstalling Lightroom

-         Creating a new catalog

Any idea approximately how many Presets/Profiles you currently have in your catalog?

How do you delete the Lightroom user preferences? Preferred way is to hold Shift+Alt when launching Lr and then reset the preferences.

The Lr system info that you posted isn't complete. It does not contain the GPU info.

The store presets settings might not have anything to do with this situation (unless it happens when you try to toggle the preference setting). To confirm, temporarily rename the Lightroom settings folder next to your catalog and see what happens.

Also try follow https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/lightroom-gpu-faq.html to do a clean install of your latest GPU driver.

Graphics Processor Info:

DirectX: Radeon RX Vega M GL Graphics (26.20.12001.12000)

1.  Renamed setting folder and deleted presets in Develop Presets folder.  The presets seemed to reside in both and I could not tell which was the "real" list.  In any case, helped for a while. I was able to open preferences and check and uncheck "Store Presets in the Catalog.

2. Manually copied old presets in Lightroom settings which worked (I could use presets in Lightroom), but the opening preferences and attempting to click Store presets froze the program.

3. Next opened Lightroom deleting the user preferences with Shift-Alt.  Then reopened Lightroom and tried to open Preferences which immediately froze Light.

4. Manually deleted presets per #1 and able to open Lightroom and click Store presets, etc., but this did not really move the presets to the catalog folder.  After another opening of Lightroom, click Store presets in Preferences again froze Lightroom.

The issue seems to be related to presets, but not consistently.

Thanks Michael. This is really helpful. Would you be willing to zip up your Lr presets and post it online somewhere. And share the link with me sichen AT adobe DOT com. Or if you could try to figure out the specific preset that trips up the preference dialog. Post the problematic preset for us to check.

1. Testing select presets did not isolate the preferences dialog issue. For example, I tried loading on the first four and then all the presents minus the first four.  The result was the same either way.

2. I sent you a Google Drive link to a copy of my setting folder with all of my presets

3. Why are there develop presets in both the Settings Folder and the Develop Presets folder? The lists are identical.

Thanks Michael. I got the link in the email. I am in the process of downloading them now.

The Develop Presets are there mostly for legacy support of earlier version of Lr with .lua based preset. If you toggle the "Store Presets with the Catalog" option, Lr will duplicate the the files between these two locations. If you are sure these two locations have exactly the same content. Feel free to delete the unused one. Lr does not normally just delete a folder without user permission. It needs to be very careful :-).
