Opening latest ACR freezes Photoshop and Bridge

Opening ACR in either Photoshop or Bridge (June 2020 versions) opens a hidden semi-transparent window behind the application and renders all controls inoperative.

The hidden window appears to be a modal "info" box that contains buttons that must be clicked to dismiss it. But since it is underneath the ADR and Photoshop or Bridge windows there is no access to the buttons.

All controls on the top ACR or Photoshop are greyed out and do not respond to mouse or keyboard. The top window can be moved by dragging the top bar. Doing so momentarily reveals the semi-transparent window. It shows only while dragging the top bar of ACR or Photoshop. It immediately disappears on releasing the mouse.

The only way to escape this is to force quit Bridge or Photoshop, thus losing all work.

The window itself appears to be contain some kind of info about the the new version of ACR, but is useless appearing under the apps and blocking them from use.

I tried turning off my second display to see if the new ACR was confused by it, but it didn't help.

Complete crash report was transmitted to Apple. I did not think to save a text copy at the time. But I saved a text copy of the Console data afterward.

BTW: If ACR is already open and active, you can re-create this problem by selectiing "About Camera Raw..." from the menubar. Doing so immediately renders all buttons, menus and controls geyed out and inoperative.

A few things to try depending on if this is an odd redraw or indeed the Mac is locking up:

Try disabling GPU support in preferences, any better?
And in terms of your display profile, are you creating your own custom profiles and if so, how? LUT profiles can sometimes cause issues with previewing; recalibrate, set the software for a Matrix profile. Might clear it up.
Never hurts to do a shut down of the Mac. Then restart and try again.
Log into another account and see if the same issue happens; if not, there's some confecting software running on your other log in system or library.
Still not working, boot into Safe Mode (booth with shift key down), can you launch ACR/Bridge and does this go away?
