Photoshop: One-Stop Gradients...please?

Why not let us have only one color/opacity stop in the Gradient Editor?

I constantly find myself wishing that I could remove the second stop from a gradient.

This would allow quicker single-color alpha gradients and can generally improve workflow speed when working with multiple layers with same gradients that require different color values.

Another simple idea, that makes a lot of sense. I agree!

This is implemented in Photoshop CC 2014.

Be warned though, single stop gradients can't be read by previous versions of Photoshop.

Makes sense that legacy version can't interpret the new data. Unfortunately, the CC 2014 introduced some fundamental changes in the way masks, vector masks and deletion priority work completely messing up my workflow so I've found myself on CS6 and unwilling to upgrade, unable to discern the new 'logic'. Thanks though.
