LIGHTROOM: disable-enable option for history panel

Lightroom has countless options. Even the modules can be hidden and there are various ways to ornament the ends of the panels (I like the "Small Flourish"). I would really like one more option: a disable-enable option for the History Panel. Specializing in close-ups of flowers and leaves, I produce long lists of spot removals. And without comparative editing being possible, I like to go back and forth, back and forth, with the adjustments until I think I see what is best. This produces more long lists. Going back to all of this is not feasible. I have used Lightroom since early 2008 but have never felt a need to use this feature (That's just me, of course). For each photo I have to clear these lists, hoping it will make more than an insignificant difference in the catalog size.
