Photoshop: Odd shapes just appear in my masks and on layers

wtf -photoshop geeks out - places weird shapes in my masks and on layers. it did it to about 15 different layer and masks. why is this happening? i'm way too deep into a project for this - it is literally ruining work and files.

That looks like a video card driver bug.

What version of Photoshop are you using?

What OS version are you using?

Which model Macintosh, and which GPU model? 10.9.5 did add a few new video driver problems on some models (seems to be iMac and MacBook Pro so far), and 10.10 has added even more video driver bugs (which we are still gathering data on).

I haven't seen any bugs on the Radeon 5770 in MacOS 10.10 yet.
So it might be better.

fingers crossed here. i haven't seen the problem again since it happened earlier. It did totally shred a working file, however. Thanks for your help, Chris.
