Photoshop: Not able to open tif files created by Helicon focus in Adobe products

I cannot open tif files from Helicon remote. (I am having the same problem in Bridge and Lightroom.) With other applications including Photomatix, Preview, iPhoto, and Picasa the file opens with no problem.

I took the further step from iPhoto and export the image back out to a file (outside the iPhoto library), and then I was able to open that tif file in Adobe apps.

When I look at the original tif image in Bridge (or Lightroom5 or camera raw or photoshop) all I get is a bunch of colorful horizontal lines. And, by the way, the colors have nothing to do with the image.

Is your version of Helicon up to date?

And can you give us a link to a file that doesn't open?

Uploading and sharing from Creative Cloud or Dropbox works.

Just received a reply from Helicon - they accept it as their issue and are working to correct.
