LIGHTROOM - Not develop possible during auto import

During auto import (in the background) it is not possible to develop a picture: LR always looses the selection of a specific picture I want to edit and changes the selection randomly during the edit. I am looking to a picture, do my edits - and suddenly LR flips over to another picture.
Latest LR CC on OS X.

Try working from a Collection. What ever photo you are editing in Develop needs to be in a collection that isn't tied to the Auto-Import stream. Quick Collection will work. Just hit B to move the image to the QC and then select it there to work on it. The Auto Import images should load in the background.

Thanks Rikk for this workaround. But in this case one has to handle several target collections (one to be able to edit and at least the final "right" target collection). I think this should be fixed in the future.

Hello Adobe, this is the type of over complicated behaviors that not only irritate beginners but even me as a LR user since version LR2 on a daily professional usage ...

No reason they can't be the same collection. Any collection can be made to be the target collection. Right click on the collection and say Set as Target. Hitting the B will put it into the correct collection from the start.

In Lightroom preferences check to see if under the "General" tab if the Import option: "Select the 'Current/Previous Import' collection during import" is unchecked or not and see if that helps.

Thanks, both solutions do not work (at least not when developing a picture). LR holds a selection only in grid view. It still always jumps to the latest auto imported picture in develop mode.

We do it all the time at Photo booths. Keeping the photos in a distinct Static Collection keeps it from moving on us.
