The Place tags with map location stopped to work suddenly in Organizer 2018. There is no relevant information to ber found on how to patch this disfunctionality. I am going to claim damages at the retailer I bought the bundle, Amazon.de and I advise everybody with the same problem to do so, as we are entitled to under Consumer protection laws.

How do we disable the automatic mapping system in 2018 so we can manually put in the locations we require?  That would probably make you customers happy!  Like Mr. Thrasher says, why does he or anyone else want 2 lists of the same locations?  Adobe knew this was coming and I am sure they could have made a patch to either disable the the automatic locations (to allow manually typing in locations, as in pre Elements 14, or integrated the old map system with the new system.   s

The Problem is that a person cannot manually add new locations as I could in my previous versions.

this is definitely a case of improving the program. The old mapping system worked great. Find the place on the map and tag the photos, edit tags, move them around... It stopped working and told me to buy 2019... which I did. In 2019 they start a whole new list of locations rather than working with my existing list (why do I need 2 lists of US locations???) then has a difficult time discerning specific locations or letting me edit. No this is not an improvement, in fact they botched up one of the better features of elements.

Fully agree but ADOBE DOES NOT CARE.   We are no longer their customers but their slaves.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Unable to add new locations to Places Tags in elements 2018.

I just happened to buy elements 2018 about a month before 2019 was released and now they want me to purchase 2019 so that I can add locations  Places Tags,  Now that really sucks when a person is retired and on a fixed income.  It appears that sure doesn't make one feel confidence in Adobe.  (I did like using the map anyway.)  It appears that a person has to make their own location Tags in a different section and redo all of the existing photos with new tags.  That will take some time with 50,000 photos to tag. Along with the time that they disallowed me a rebate on the purchase of elements 12 (I believe) and refused to tell me why the rebate would not be honoured.  It sure does make me a customer who will recommend this product.  It may be time to change to another product if this one does not come up with a solution for this "glitch".
