I bought Lightroom 5 last month. It does not have the visualize spots in it. Tried to find if there were any upgrades and it says there are none available. What gives? That was one of the reasons I bought it?

The Visualize Spots checkbox in visible in the tool options that are below the central image area when the Spotting Tool is active.

The Spotting Tool is the circle-arrow to the right of the crop tool rectangle at the top of the right hand panel in Develop module.

Press the T key to toggle the tool options on and off if need be.

If you still can't find it, the give more details about the exact version of LR and your OS version, and best of all, a screenshot of your LR Develop panels.
