No photoshop after trying to install new feature!

A few days ago I was instructed to uninstall my photoshop version 8 from my computer in order to install a new feature (I do no remember the name). The result was that the feature could not be installed and when I wanted to use photoshop there was nothing I could work with with my pictures. Your system has the record of that program with the license number (registred). How could I have my photoshop back?

That doesn't quite make sense.
You only get new features with new versions.

And Photoshop 8 was called Photoshop CS.
Do you mean Elements 8?

Why did you uninstall?

What exactly is preventing you from reinstalling?

And what do you mean by "Your system has the record of that program with the license number (registred) "?

I had photoshop opened when an ad showed up saying that there was a program or feature that would make photoshop better (I do not remember details,' cause I did not expect I could not find photoshop after that process). I am a busy person, and I would like having a chat with someone that could help me. Other way, I would need to look for my installation disks to reinstal Photoshop again.
What I say about "registration" is that I saw in the page where I registred -months ago- the program that it is there with the date, and license number, which is good. I thought that it was possible to download the program from photoshop so I did not have to go to the original disks and installed the program again.
What I am finding is that I cannot trust any more the offers your company make to improve your programs. Therefore, I just will install the program and use it as it is. Thanks for your prompt reply.

Which product and version are you actually using?
Which OS version are you using?

I'm really not sure what you're talking about, or why you would have uninstalled your software. And you aren't telling us what is preventing you from reinstalling.
