just an FYI ... my experience ... if you upgrade to the latest MacOS, Catalina, you will no longer be able to use your Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator that you paid for and use on your Mac. AND if you install Parallels on your mac in hopes of installing an older MacOS for the purpose of re-installing your purchased & licensed Photoshop or Illustrator to run in a virtual OS, be advised... these Adobe products will not install in Parallels virtual environment.

Photoshop on your Mac is subscription too, unless you use a very old version that will probably cease to work with your next MacOS upgrade.

Why should or why would I upgrade? Its not like my Mac will stop working. I already have my work flow down and as a tool it functions perfectly as is.  Yes I use CS6 and it functions perfectly and I’m not mistaken its only your ability that matters and what you can do with tools that exist and there is nothing you cant achieve with the older versions, albeit somethings make take slightly longer. I have Catalina on my new Mac and no adobe applications which is just fine by me. Honestly the only good thing about Catalina is side car but I already have a Cintinq. Everything is a subscription lately and I’m tired of it, I’m sure I’m not alone, just look at the reviews of Photoshop mobile, never min the fact that’s its barely photoshop.  We are being charged more and getting less and this exactly the case with Adobe. They have not given me any incentive to upgrade only the ability to take away access the second I stop paying.

Photoshop on the iPad is an 'upgrade' too. It's something new, that didn't exist before. You say you'd want to use it. You can, but it requires a subscription. Take it or leave it. Adobe will not roll back subscriptions, that train has passed.

And like you said yourself, you don't have to use it... Get Affinity Photo if you want to edit images on the iPad without a subscription. Or some other iPad image editor.

That train has long since sailed, if you know what I mean. Eventually, Apple will stop releasing security updates for your computer. I remember people screaming about the end of Classic Mac OS and swearing that they would never move to OS X. Haven’t heard much from them lately.

This isn’t really about OS X it’s about subscriptions. If you don’t like them...say something. The more people who voice their disapproval the more Adobe will take notice. This is about protecting the consumer. Remember the days when the customer was always right? The long and short of it is....it’s a total scam and we are being taken advantage of...aren’t you sick of it? Honestly....

The whole world is unfair. This is really a first world problem and not enough for me to cry about, seriously. Buy different software if you don't like it.
