Hello, I'm using an iPhone Xs running iOS 12.1 with Lightroom Mobile 4.02. I'm noticing that, when I shoot DNG, the flash is off and the icon greyed out. The flash is operating normally when shooting JPEG, and with the native iOS camera.
I tried resetting the phone and deleting/reinstalling Lightroom but no joy. Is this normal behavior?

FredC - this is the current behavior. With the DNG capture, and HDR or Long Exposure selected the Flash is not accessible. With DNG capture enabled, Automatic, Professional and Depth Capture have the ability to turn on or off the flash.
Is that how yours is working?

Rick, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, the flash is NOT accessible in Automatic or Professional modes with DNG capture on. It is accessible with Depth Capture (which is pretty nifty, BTW)...

It is this way on my iPhone 7 Plus. I will have to check with the team to see if behavior changed for the iPhone X series.

There was a bug that the flash didn't work with DNG on the iPhone X. That may be back with the newest iPhones.

Correct, FredC. The issue is still open in our system.

Just started using version 4.3.2 and this problem seems to still exist. Is there a fix in the works?

Is there any movement on this issue? I'm trying to use the Lightroom camera in DNG and a Lume Cube flash for handheld macro shooting. I need the camera flash to trigger the slave mode in the Lume Cube.

This is really bad. How does Adobe decide whether or not I get to use my flash? I just lost a photo because the shot was way too dark to shoot without it and I was unable to turn MY flash on. Get that Adobe - MY FLASH! By the time I got DNG turned off (and using DNG is the ONLY reason I even bother with LR camera by the way), it was too late. Screw you adobe.

Can't believe that this is still open - without an update. It's been almost a full year.

If you follow anything to do with Adobe, it's not hard to believe at all. They own you. And they know it. You'll take what they give you and like it. And pay them for it.

Are you still experiencing this issue after updating Apple's iOS to Version 13? (note - not the Beta but the public release)

Yes, I'm on the iOS 13 public release on an iPhone Xs and still see the issue...

"Thank you for confirming"...
Is it a joke Rikk ?
Nobody at Adobe has an iPhone in his pocket to check this flash bug in DNG for months ???

Tragically, it's not a joke. If you think THIS is bad, try dealing with their foreign "customer support" function. The most incompetent collection of people ever assembled in one place (well, except for any building containing microsoft staff...). And that has been that way FOR YEARS.

iphone11, latest software updates, if flash is on, DNG doesn't save a photo. It still acts like it does, though, glad I caught it before I lost a good shot. This does not look good for a great app.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Lightroom Mobile Flash not Working in RAW.
I have the iPhone XS Max running iOS 13.1.3. I just tried using the camera in Lightroom Mobile yesterday for the first time because I want to use the RAW camera function. When I tried activating the flash it is greyed out and I cant activate it. When I switch to JPG the flash becomes white and i can access flash options. Please fix!

I see with the Nov 2019 release of Lightroom Mobile they still have NOT fixed the DNG Flash issues on the iPhone XS Max.

It is beyond amazing that Adobe thinks they can push you to use their DNG Lightroom camera but disable YOUR flash so when you actually need it, it's not there and you lose a potentially irreplaceable shot. They could have provided an option to override their default but not Adobe. Obviously they have some technical problem (color balance?) they're not capable of resolving so their solution is to remove the function altogether on your behalf. They could at least give you the option to use it in some degraded capacity so you at least have it if you need it. Adobe would never think of that. They're the same company that forces a profoundly incompetent outsourced support company on you when you need help. I'm learning to hate Adobe.
