Lightroom 4/5: Nikon D800 Tethering issue

I am using Lightroom 4 completely updated, (and just purchased Lightroom 5, same issue) I need to tether my Nikon D800 (I own 2) to my windows 8 PC however this has been extremely unreliable and is becoming an embarrassment with my customers.

The connection fails sometimes halfway through a shoot and will not connect again (it just says no camera detected) and on other occasions it will not connect at all (no camera detected). The camera is detected by the PC, I have all firmware up to date to the latest version and windows is up to date, I checked again yesterday. I have followed the Lightroom and Nikon's trouble shooting steps, step by step and have been unable to get the camera to connect reliably, I've changed USB cables and cameras with no improvement.

As mentioned this connectivity issue is becoming an embarrassment and I would like to have it sorted. Can anyone give me any advise or should I be looking for another software solution?

So I am assuming that Adobe is not going to reply to this, does anyone know the contact details for Adobe support?
