Since the latest update all my Nikon 1 J5 Imports are automatically oversharpended with an unnatural contrast. Also the exports to jpeg are.

The most likely cause is that you have (perhaps inadvertently) set your Import Develop defaults to a new value or you are using a preset during Import.

Check the Apply During Import panel in the Import dialog and make sure the Develop Settings is set to "None".  If so, go to Preferences>Presets>Default Develop Settings and hit the [Reset all default Develop settings] button.

Do you still have the problem?

Dear Rikk

Thanks for your answer, but it didn't solve the problem. If I view the pictures in lightroom they are rough-textured and grainy. If I open the imported files (from the folder) with the NEF codec they look normal. I use lightroom for several years and never faced this problem. I send you a sample in this forum so that I can show you the problem.

Thanks for your support

Henrik

It seems to me that this problem began to occur with the new cameraraw update last week

Tell me more about this Nikon Codec. What is it exactly?  Is it a viewer for using Windows Explorer to view your files?

Hi Rikk
Indeed the Nikon NEF Codec is a program you can view NEF Raw-Data files in Windows with
http://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/de/products/170/NEF_Codec.html

As I mentioned before: The imported files from Lightroom can be viewed out of the explorer-folder with the Nikon specific programs in a much better Quality than in Lightroom. So this should not be a problem of import but, as I assume, a problem of the viewer in Lightroom.
Thanks for your assistence.
