LIGHTROOM...PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE. I use each and every item most every day in my work flow.To be able to see how file name looks before it is brought in to LR. Is very important. As well as To see the destination Folders , how big a file is......Move is gone. You can only Add the photos at their existing location or Copy the photos to a new location.
Eject After Import is gone. You must now remember to eject memory cards using the operating system
Duplicate photos can’t be imported
Zoom is gone from the Import Loupe view.
Filename is now hidden under a tooltip.
Destination panel folders preview is gone, including the italic preview showing your chosen folder structure, the checkmarks to their right, and the volume information showing how much space was available on each drive.
Thumbnail filtering by Destination folder is gone.
Total file size is gone from the bottom left corner.
The filename preview (when renaming) is gone. THANKS!!!

I think this is the WORST software "update" I have ever seen by any company anywhere. Period.

Adobe, WHAT WHERE YOU THINKING!
Nothing in 6 has improved. 6.2 is an insight into awful project management.

Change it fast or I am gone!

Why on earth did you change something that worked? Why do you feel it necessary to make Lightroom simpler? Flexibility is far more important than simplicity if simplicity makes getting the job done more difficult.

Please put the original import workflow back the way it was!

In the desktop version of the app, users still need control. If it ain't broke...

Come on Adobe. Can we get the import window changed back?

If Adobe insists on creating these "LR for DUMMIES" changes, The least they should do is give the other 99% of us a preference setting to use the old NOT FOR DUMMIES version

I recommended Lightroom to several other photographers. As of 6.2 I won't be able to do that. Capture One is now the better of the two thanks to Adobe's spectacular "own goal".

Very disappointed in the dumbed-down Lightroom import process. The ability to see the destination tree and where your photos would end up after import is critical. So many useful tools got removed.

This is not an upgrade. It's a major downgrade!

I updated to Lightroom CC 2015.2 and after trying to import several times immediately reverted back to previous version.

1/ Continuous crashes while importing.

2/ I can't move the files anymore to the catalogue, only copy them. I don't need two copies of all my files. Once the files are copied the originals just get dumped in the trash. Seems kind of a dumb way of doing things. PLEASE RESTORE THE MOVE FEATURE!!!!!!

Really missing the destination folder preview. Being able to see this helps reduce the number of "lost" images, especially for newbies.
I'm afraid that this new dumbed-down interface will actually lead to more confusion.

But thanks for not messing with the interface of the rest of the modules. And please don't!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled New Lightroom Import Interface.

I am really stunned to see the new Lightroom import interface, sadly Lightroom has lost its professional look. Actually I find the interface a lot more confusing than the previous version, the huge check marks over the images really look painful. I have been using Lightroom since version 1 or 2 and have always admired the presentation and simplicity of the application. Sorry Lightroom designers, you have failed this time. Finally I have always endorsed Lightroom to many others but this is where I will end that endorsement,

Terribly disappointed with both the Lightroom and Photoshop CC recent upgrades. Besides all the points mentioned by everyone, the apps crashing renders both LR and PS unusable. This is exactly why I would prefer standalone vs cloud.

Photoshop CC 2015 isn't crashing often if the 2015.0.1 update is installed.

This is kind of unbelievable. I expected a round of RAW updates for new cameras, some bug fixes and hopefully some performance improvements. But instead the LR team has pulled the rug out from under me with this "revamped" import dialog.

Why in the world did you eliminate the Destination Folder previews? I use virtually all of the features you've removed, but in particular I WANT to see where my files are going. I always look at the italicized new folders to make sure the new files are going where I want them to go. PLEASE REINSTATE the former functionality.

Why have you removed "Eject After Imports"? This is a big time saver when I'm importing from several cards, and its' removal certainly doesn't improve my "import experience". I should at least have the option to enable this function in preferences.

I've avoided the .2 update until the LR team makes this right, but now of course there is no support for new cameras. In the future it would be helpful if Camera Updates could be offered as a separate update from potentially disruptive "improvements".

2015.2 is unbelievably, seriously busted.

I imported (via the default copy) my files after upgrading and now Lr can't find them. It thinks it imported them into a temporary directory it created within my Pictures folder, which it had automatically deleted after the import process. I had specified a dated sub-folder at the same location. Some low res thumbnail previews remain cached and are linked to the now gone directory.

Now I can't try to import them a second time to a different location since the Lr catalog thinks they already exist and would be duplicated.

Still have files on my memory card but am unable to use them.

It automatically deleted the photos after copying? That would be a potential data loss bug that's worthy of its own thread. Can you start another thread and walk us through step by step so we can try to reproduce it please? We'll need to know your OS too please.

(And as a side note, if you haven't edited the photos in LR yet, you can safely remove them from the catalog and then it'll let you add them again)

Everything has already been said: (1) if some users want a simpler interface, leave at least the older on, as an "expert" choice - that raisesme the question what public Adobe is targeting, the smartphone geek or the professional? (2) the combination El Capitan (10.11) and LR 2015.2 (CC): on top, the new (bloody) interface makes that everything crashes; desactivating is, though, possible.

All this makes me very anxious, putting my whole photo library and years of work in danger. Please, Adobe wake up or you will to have to buy in Capture One to regain your fleeing customers !

I will downgrade to 6.1 with the old Import - the new one is a showstopper for me

I need the functions taken away of the old import in my daily workflow:
+ destination folder preview
+ Eject card
+ Move option
+ Total file size
+ filename preview
+ Zoom
I do not need :
- a big tick box ion the middle of the icon
- an Add Photos landing page
