Lightroom 5: New photos are not shown in the Slideshow during a tethering session. This was working fine in Lightroom 4

For some reason Adobe removed this great functionality from Lightrooom 5. One of the great things about Lightroom 4 was the capability to have a slide show running while connected to a tethering session so that people could see the pictures being taken in a photo booth (great for wedding and events). Now that functionality does not exist. Please bring it back!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled LR6 doesn't update Slideshows with new images in tethered mode.

Hello,

I have read articles of people using LR in tethered mode with the slideshow module to build a photobooth. That's what I wanted to do, as well. I have recently updated to LR6 and was very disappointed that LR6 doesn't update a slidehow with new pictures, as is it has been doing in earlier versions (I think until LR4). I really had hoped that this bug of LR5 had been fixed in LR6 but obviously not :(
It is a bug (and not a feature ;) ), because the new photos show up in the film strip, but don't get displayed (although "all photos in film strip" are selected). -And if it is considered a new feature (if so please explain me!), an option like "auto update slideshow with new photos: y/n" would make everybody happy!
One more thought would be an option like "show new photos as they are added" to show the latest photos and then go back to the slideshow (or restart it, when in random mode).

Please fix this bug and bring back a useful feature!

Cheers
Peter

Are you still having this issue? An issue related to this was fixed in Lightroom 2015.8/6.8 or later.

Hi, I'm running LR CC 2015.10 and the problem still doesn't appear to have been fixed - not long now until the 4th anniversary of this problem!

I just downloaded Lightroom Classic CC 7.2 today (2/28/18) and this feature still does not work. Tethering works. Slideshows work. But adding a new tethered photo to a Slideshow that is already playing does not work.
