Lightroom Mobile: Trial subscription won’t sync with cloud

I’ve just installed Lightroom Mobile on my iPad, and signed up for a trial premium subscription. However, syncing or uploading images is not working, and I only get an ‘uploading x pending’ message when I check the cloud symbol. I’ve removed and reinstalled the app. I’ve confirmed that I have a reliable internet connection. I’ve disabled ‘auto add from camera roll’, ‘use cellular data’, and ‘only download smart previews’. Any advice would be appreciated before I have to cancel the subscription.

Are you trying to sync with a desktop app or just upload images to the cloud from mobile?

Strange. Do you see something on lightroom.adobe.com ? Sync can be somewhat unreliable, but it’s usually when it involves LR on desktop.
Oh! By the way: LR only syncs when the app is open. Have you locked your phone or changed app  and hoped it would sync in the background?

I’ve left the iPad on (sleep off) overnight, so not trying to sync in the background .
When I had a look at Lightroom.adobe.com for the first time this morning, it looks like the upload was partially done but not completed:

I hope your problem will be solved soon and has a rational explanation, because this doesn’t make me feel more confident about Lr sync’s reliability :/

Greetings Copelg,

Looking at your screenshot, I would say that you are experiencing a very slow sync up to the cloud from your device. Are you syncing via Cellular or Wifi? If you test your connection via speedtest.net - what is your Download and Upload speed?

I’m trying to sync via Wi-Fi.
my current down and upload speeds are 42 and 11 mbps.
My Apple devices sync camera roll photos easily at these speeds, and download full size images for editing in a couple of seconds per image. Lightroom mobile is still showing pending after many hours attempting to sync.

Are there any videos in the group of photos syncing? If so are any of those videos Slow Motion?

No videos. At the moment, I’m trying just 4 jpegs. Still the same after 2 days. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app but no difference.

Have you tried to remove the images from Lightroom (this assumes you have them some where else), restarting the device and then trying a single image?

Just tried that.
Deleted all images, deleted and reinstalled the Lr app, and tried to sync on jpeg iPhone image.
still trying to sync after several hours.

If a single image won't sync up then let's test the downward sync.
  1. Remove the single image from Lightroom.
  2. Go to https://lightroom.adobe.com and sign in with your Adobe Account
  3. If everything is synced you should see an empty grid.
  4. Load one photo in via the web interface
  5. Turn on your device and allow it to sync.
Does the image you loaded via the web sync down to your device?

I tried the downward sync, and it worked.
The upward sync also now works fine.
I’ve no idea why this worked, but it appears to have unblocked the sync issues.
Many thanks for your help.
