New Bridge 2015 Cripples Useability

I feel as if I've been projected into a twilight zone!

Refer to the attachment. It's what I see when I engage “Photo Downloader”. I've used it this way for years. Notice “Apply Metadata”, “Templates to Use”, “Basic Metadata” It contains, along with other settings, my current copyright year. Each Jan, I reset the year, easy peasy. Except for now, no way! Why? Because in a search for the template “Basic Metadata”, it no longer exists, or more correctly, I cannot find it. Apparently, in updating to cc2015.5, something changed but Basic Metadata persisted in the Downloader.

But wait! There's more! I just updated my second computer to CC2015.5.1, along with Bridge. Now, none of my current settings on #2 computer, in Bridge, migrated, except for Workspace, which I had to invoke. And now, using Photodownloader, I have none of the settings {seen in the attachment} running, and, apparently, no way to reset it for I cannot find the place to change it. That is, no Metadata Basic available. It no longer opens as “Advanced” either, even though I changed it. Exiting and reopening Bridge, “Advanced” is not sticky.

So now I am faced with a dilemma.

Computer#1 has not been updated to CC2015.5.1, along with the update to Bridge, now called Bridge 2015. Bridge 2015 no longer functions seamlessly with respect to the older Bridge.

I don't want to go anywhere near these updates! I don't have time to mess with updates that snooker the user like this!

I did a search for information on this particular topic in Google and found nothing.

Both computers run win 7 64 bit Pro or Ultimate. Is win 10 required to handle the migrations, that is, Win 7 is crippled in the update process?

I really need some clarity!
