Photoshop: Cannot launch because "...unexpected end-of-file encountered!"

I keep getting an error when I try to open Photoshop (this has not happened before) it says "could not initialize photoshop because an unexpected end-of-file encountered"

That just means that the file is corrupted or truncated for some reason and cannot be read.

That could refer to your preferences, or a file recovered after a crash.

Try launching with command-option-shift held down to reset Photoshop's preferences.

Chris, I've got the same problem but with Windows 10 and PS CC 2015. I tried starting and holding shift-alt-ctrl and it gave me the option of not loading plug-ins, but PS still would not open. I looked for the preferences folder in the PS program files but could not find it. Adobe help is only open during the week. Any thoughts?
