I'm trying to install Photoshop CS3 on my Mac, it's updated to the new High Sierra, and I'm having issues with activation... I even tried looking up on the Adobe website and getting a new serial number, uninstalling and reinstalled... It still won't activate with the new serial number!!! I obviously can't use the telephone number to activate... and everything that I look up just says to update to the Cloud......but I don't want to have just flushed money down the drain on a program that won't work!! Please help :(

According to

Photoshop CS3 works with Mac OS X v10.4.8-10.5 (Leopard).
But some people seem to have managed to run it under High Sierra, have you checked out these threads?

When one decides to stick with obsolete software one should make sure one is able to roll back any and all software and hardware updates in case they »break« the set-up.
As for »flushing money down the train«: Photoshop CS3 war released in 2007 so you may have already gotten 10 years of work out of it and you could continue using it for decades more on the appropriate OS/hardware.
