Elements: Program has stopped working "Runtime Error"

I can't make my photoshop elements work. I am unable to do anything with it. I just get an error message stating: Runtime Error! Program C:/Probram Fi... This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

What version of Elements? What OS/Version are you running?

Did it ever work? If so, what changed? (did you install any new software, update drivers, etc?)

Do you use an virus software or system cleaners? It sounds like a required file is missing. A user with this error reports that reinstall corrected this error: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1233702

Yes I use Mcafee. I may have to do what that other person did and re-install.
