Hopefully Autosave helped you out there. Were you able to get a report on the freeze from your system? I know how to get that on a Mac for future reference, but someone else will have to help you if you're on Windows. I'm afraid there's really nothing Adobe can do without some kind of report, unless it always happens with a particular file they can check out. Freezes just do happen to all of us from time to time, and then after relaunching PS, everything works.
