What OS version are you using?
What does the long, detailed crash report say?

Hi Chris,
thanks so much for replying. I am so not IT literate, i find all this hard to understand!! I have 10.6.8
I am struggling get the adobe photoshop to stay open now. I have taken some photos of the crash report, but it goes on endlessly so here are few shots!!

It would have been better to copy and paste the text of the crash log.
And when taking screenshots - use the OS tools to get a screenshot, not a digital camera.

You are running Photoshop CS2 (written for PowerPC processors) on a newer system with an Intel processor, so it is running under Apple's PowerPC process emulation software. Apple has abandoned the processor emulation software in recent OS versions - and it was buggy even in older OS versions.

Your best bet would be purchasing a newer version of Photoshop that runs natively on Intel processors.

Thanks so much for your advice Chris. It's now whether or go for a CS or downgrade to Elements 13?!!!!
Cheers

That depends a lot on how you use Photoshop.
If you use LAB or CMYK, then you need the full version, not Elements.

As I had to google what LAB and CMYK meant(!!) I think I will be ok with elements 13!! Is it compatible with Maverick and Yosemite?
Thanks

Yes, Elements 13 works on MacOS 10.9 and 10.10.
