My Lord Adobe could you PLEASE fix your Photoshop autosave? I have been struggling for years with losing my work on Photoshop. Yes I should save every 5 minutes, but considering how I am paying for the service it seems like y'all could figure out how to make an effective autosave and a logical efficient autorecovery method. Arggh. Knowing the travails in store makes me shudder every time I open what is an otherwise incredible program. Thank you.

A good and fast autosave feature would truly be an update worth paying the fees for. Instead we get changes of tools and functions that have been established for a decade and worked without issues (transform as an example).
Is there not a way to save changes to the file without needing to change the whole PSD/PSB in the background which often takes several minutes and makes PS lag like crazy even on the most high end systems?
Something that basically saves the history log since the last save, so that in case of a crash PS can go through all logged history changes step by step and rebuild the file?
I mean, there is already a history log function and it seems to me it could be modified to create a better autosave feature but currently it is not really that useful since it logs changes from all files into one single text file...

I understand that there is more complexity to it than it seems at first, since you would need a possibility to efficiently backup/log/save painted information as it is not all about filters, settings, adjustment layers. But is there really no way of doing this faster than having PS save the whole file in the background?
Maybe we can all brainstorm about this and put up an "idea" post here to see what is possible.

If Auto-Save is failing, it sounds like something else is going off the rails. It sounds like you're experiencing a lot of crashes. Is Photoshop crashing, or the whole computer? I'm not seeing any crash reports in our system from you. Ifyou haven't done so already, please submit all Crash Reports along with youremail address: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/submit-crash-reports.html

Auto-Save isn't going to work well if the whole system is going down.
