My iMac running Catalina 10.15.1 has crashed twice when running Photoshop 20.0.7, and saving a large TIFF file. The machine just dies - dead. I can't power it up again immediately, I had to pull the power plug out for a few seconds, and re-connect, then I could power up the iMac again. When I did I could recover the PS file ok.

I then re-edited the same TIFF file, quite large, maybe 1gb file size, with layers, and then went to 'close' it (to save and close). Same thing happened... the iMac immediately died. Dead. Had to do same procedure of disconnecting power and reconnection to power up again.

Opened same file in PS again, and next time was more cautious when saving it. Rather than 'close file' I 'saved file', and then closed file. All ok.

I've never seen this problem before on PS 20.0.7, but previously I'd run it on High Sierra 10.13. The only change I have recently is upgraded OS to Catalina 10.15.1.

I'm wondering if this is a Catalina problem??

Any thoughts on this problem??

A system hang or freeze requiring a computer restart usually means a low level failure such as a driver (bad video card driver, etc), failing hardware (hard disk, video card, etc.) or damaged OS installation.
