I have been using Photoshop CS5 for years without problems. My computer broke and I had to get a new computer that came with ElCapitan. Now I am not able to save my PhotoShop projects in a .jpg or .pdf format. Now what?

JPEG and PDF support are built into Photoshop - so it can always save them.
But, double check your document depth and color mode - it might be something that JPEG and PDF cannot support.

When you say "Cannot save JPEG or PDF files" do you get a particular error? It could be permissions related - as we see a fair number of reports of damaged user accounts after OS upgrades. See the troubleshooting steps here for User Permissions: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/basic-trouble-shooting-steps.html

I have just loaded ElCapitan on to my Mac and now can't save my Photoshop CS5 files to JPEG or PDF and it has nothing to do with permissions or colour mode... It is a glitch.  Can anyone supply a useful fix.  Thanks
