must every poster file saved as .PSD be changed to .PFD for commercial printing or just one file?

I have 24 x36 poster design all saved as .psd. Must I now save each photo and designed background file be saved as .pdf? One printer said only 1 file needs to be saved. True?

That depends entirely on what your printer wants.
If your printer wants PDF, then you will have to convert each image you want printed into the PDF format that the printer wants.

OK. Can ALL files be merged as.psd first, then the single file saved as .pdf? Thank you!

No, because each document needs to be printed separately.
It sounds like you need to talk to your printer about exactly what they want, and why.

Ok WIll do that tomorrow. He said just one .pdf was necessary and that sounds very strange to me.... Thank you Cris, I appreciate all the incite I can get....mm
