Multiple backups redundant in light of a good backup strategy

This is not a bug with your software, but a feature of Lightroom that causes me a problem with backup management.

When a backup is created, it is automatically created in a directory named for the date of the backup. Thus saving duplicate versions of the same information and consuming an inordinate amount of disc space in the process. I have the chore of going back into my file system and clearing out old backups periodically.

Nowadays, Windows system have file history which keeps old versions of files. I understand Apple Machines have a similar system called Time Machine. If the backup was taken with the same name each time, File History on Windows and Time Machine on Macs would provide the the same functionality and consume considerable less space because they only keep the changes in the various versions and not the whole file. Providing every backup with a different name seems redundant in the context of these modern file management techniques.

I can of course copy the zip file to another directory, but that would be unnecessary if you made the addition of a date to the Backup Name optional.

Please consider this change it would make your users lives easier.
