I don't know if it is possible and I don't know how.

are the current Templates saved somewhere (i use Windows) on the Harddisk so can I put there my multiple Artboard psd file?

Or what is the correct way to do that?

There's no way to save a template file like InDesign or Illustrator. What you can do that I've done with a few files is create the base document you want. If you want 20 artboards, add 19 to the opening artboard, then save the file with Template in the Name (and how many, if that's relevant). Save it anywhere that's easy for you. You'll open it as a regular PSD file.

If you use the Start Screen, you can try to keep it live there in your Recent Files list. Pity they still haven't made it possible for us to remove unwanted files so we can keep the ones we do want around for when we want them, but. . .

Unfortunately, you can't specify the number of artboards in the New Document dialog, so there's no point in saving it as a Preset, apart from having customized your starting file if you use that often. I hope this helps.

I just thought of something that may be what you want. The files are .json for New Document presets, and I don't have a clue—something to do with java script? But you might know if you do scripting/coding. If you're up for that, you'll find your custom presets in the Preferences folder in your Library. That might make it possible (with Text Wrangler? something?) for you to set up a very customized New Document preset—it would have to be that important to you, I should think.  And of course, only work on a duplicate of the file or you could lose it all. Me, I wouldn't touch this with a 10' pole unless I needed a ton of these for a company—in which case getting a script written might do the trick. Just a thought in case you're one of the adventurous ones.  '-}

It is, definitely. But you have to start a new message, spell out your idea, and label it an "Idea" so it's set up so we can vote for it. You'll get my vote.

It's kind of a miracle we have artboards in PS at all, but working with them can still be a bit clunky, and this would help with one aspect of that.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled New Multi Artboards at start.

After all the new improvements we are feeling the need of a multi artboard template.
Think about the social media template... we will need more than an artwork at start when we can select a new template.
