I'd like the ability to create just one mask that would serve for multiple adjustment instances. Duplicate masks are a pain to work with, and if you want to alter the brush editing, or orientation, you have to do it on all copies.
Why not give us a way to use the
exact same filtermask for multiple adjustments. This way, if we
have to alter the mask, we can edit them “all” because they're
only one mask.
The user interface I imagine would
allow us to add a new adjustment to the mask at will, delete an
existing adjustment, or select any one of our adjustments to edit. A
bonus would be to allow us to “explode” the multiple into
separate masks. Another bonus would be to let us label each, to cut
This new feature would work on gradient
filter, radial filter, and brush only.
I can hear the objections, that it will
make things complex, that it will be hard to keep track, or see we
have multiple edits. But I think that could be ameliorated with good
UI design, and it's a mess to try to work with duplicates as it is.
