Multi-Picture-Metadata Manipulation

I'm running Lightroom on a Mac in version 6.2.1. After upgrading the Mac to El Capitan I cannot manipulate metadata for multiple pictures. After selecting multiple pictures in the library the metadata panel on the right does not resolve the metadata for all the pictures but only for the mainly selected one. Equally modifying a metadata field changes only the metadata for the mainly selected photo (most highlighted). All other selected photos remain unchanged.
This is true at least for the location fields country code, country, region and city.

Editing metadata is virtually impossible now.

As an addition....what works is selecting the photos and using the Synch button filling out the fields. So that helps for the moment.
On the other hand it is quite cumbersome to do so. Much more straight forward was to just edit the necessary fields. Furthermore with this bug I have lost an indication about differences in a metadata field for multiple photos to keep my library in a clean and correct state.
