I did a mass transfer to one carousel and now would like to transfer some to a new carousel that I created. Other than exporting and re-importing to the new carousel which is cumbersome there should be a easy way to move them.

Copying carousel to carousel is not currently supported. It's been asked about before and is something the product team is considering for a future release.

You will need to import the photos again into the new carousel.

For an upcoming release, we're working on support for traditional albums and sharing, which may help you accomplish your goals without re-importing.

Thanks,
Charlie

The primary problem with your workaround technique is that you have this GREAT auto-import feature that puts all my pictures in one place, but then to share some with work, some with friends, and some with family you have a most circuitous and duplicate-copy-prone process.

Do you want to share photos for viewing, or for collaboration in editing?

If you are looking only to share images for viewing by others, then the new Albums feature is what you need. Add photos from your library into an Album, enable sharing for that album, and then pass along the share URL provided in the app.

If you want collaboration on image editing and management, which is possible by inviting other users to your library in the app Settings, and you do not want all parties to see all photos in your library, you will need to use multiple libraries.
