Lightroom: Moving around the image using space bar and a Wacom tablet isn't smooth when zoomed in.

Unlike in Photoshop or Illustrator, zooming into the image and holding space bar to activate the hand tool, and using the Wacom (Intuos 3) pen to move around the image results in a very "sticky", unfluid, and not particularly useful movement. I find I need to put down the pen, and repeat the same action using the mouse to get the desired result.

What happens is one would expect fluid movement left, right, up and down, but you get a slight movement, and then the image simply sticks. After a few seconds it updates and you've moved, but that's less than useful. It works perfectly fine in Photoshop and Illustrator, and works in Lightroom if I use the mouse instead.
