How can I move photos from one library or carousel (in previous terminology) to another?

I really need to do this but want to retain the original+edits together so I can go back to them. I other words exporting is not an options as I would lose this link.

Earlier today, we released an updated app version 1.5 on iTunes and the Mac App Store. The new version now offers Albums support. A photo in your library can be copied to one or more albums in the same library. Is it possible the new Albums feature supports your needs?

How do I move several photos at the same time from the Revel library to a new album?

You can drag and drop photos from the library into album for that same library. Revel does not currently support copying or moving photos between libraries, though this is something we're considering for the future if there's interest.

Personally, the new Albums feature covers this need for new photos.Thanks.

Of course, I lost "original+edit"-link when I had to move the old photos by first exporting them and them re-importing them to the main carousel.

We don't yet have a way to move photos between libraries. To better understand your situation, may I ask what your goal is? Is your goal to consolidate multiple libraries into a single library?

Please add the ability to move photos and albums between libraries to your road map.

Yes, I want to move photos between library's because you apparently cannot place them in a album, but delete them from the main library, so I need to move them to a different library to separate them better.

Photos can be placed into multiple albums within a library, but not from a different library. We had already indicated to product management that users desire to move between libraries, but we will add another vote to the list.

thanks,
Pattie

I like to have my photos from mobile devices have their own libraries. They auto sync and hate trying to dig out photos from my Main Library that I don't need. If I could move between libraries, then I would move the ones I want to keep to my main library and could delete the rest.

Hi Clint. I totally understand how useful this could be. This is on the wish list to be considered for the future.

Albums does not solve this primarily as the Albums are confined to the library (albums cannot use different libraries as a source which is annoying).

Yes my goal is to consolidate two libraries. I just do not want to lose the original to edited version relationship. It is a one off, as I now realise how painful this is and would only use one library now.

I seem only able to copy a photo to a new album and not to an already existing one. Is that correct?

You can add photos to new or existing albums. Are you on Mac or iOS? Can you list the steps you are taking?

The new album feature is another great step forward. Maybe if we could add photos to an album from two or more libraries, it would answer this issue. I know within a day, my family was able to view photos that I didn't want them to delete with the limitations of the prior version..

.... Keep going with enhancements

I too would like to move albums from one library to another. I have 83,000 plus images in my main library, it takes far too long( over a day!) to load these. I need to break this library into smaller libraries but do not have the time nor memory on my iPads to save to my iPad, delete from current library and then upload to new library.

Hi Todd,

I am sorry, but the feature to move files to another library does not currently exist in Revel. I will ensure the team is aware that additional users are requesting it.

I want to download pictures that I took on my iPad to my PC so I can edit them with Photoshop, but since I have 9000 pictures and the new ones are at the end and your download from Revel only add 100 photos at a time it would take a long long time to get to the end where the new pictures are. My feeling is that Revel is a very simplistic service that is OK for small numbers of pictures but not for a large number of pictures. I now feel I need to look for a product (like the old PhotoShop.com) that accommodates large number of picture with easy integration to PhotoShop OR another photo editor that have a decent on line capability.

If you are using adoberevel.com, you can select the option on the top right to display the photos in your library or album by newest or oldest. (arrow pointing up or down next to 3 parallel horizontal lines). It sounds like you want to display by newest.

Used to have this ability, but can't find where/how to do so now. The only icon at the top right of the display is the send icon and it does not have the function to display by oldest nor newest. Nor does the "show" button. Again, I used to be able to do this, but since the iOs update.

Todd-

In your post above, you wanted to break up your photos into smaller bunches.
If you have many photos in a library, how about assigning them to different albums within the library?

In your most recent post, regarding order of photos in iOS, there is not a oldest or newest sort button, but the recent versions of revel have a scroll tab that you can grab and pull to the bottom to get to the older photos. Newer photos are on top. Tap and drag down on the screen to see the scroll tab on the right. Tap and drag it down to get to the older photos.

Will putting photos in albums within one library facilitate speedier opening of the library? It often takes DAYS, no joke, days to open my larger libraries. As this problem seems to be only with my larger libraries, I'm guessing it is a problem of size. That is the reason behind wanting to move photos from one library to another.

As I am moving my older photos out of my largest library to a new library, this scroll function is not very helpful, i have to wait for the entire library to load before I can get to the oldest events.

As an update, everything seems to be working fine at the moment. I can even open libraries that I have not had access to for many months. So I have been saving photos from my library of over 80,000 photos to my iPad, 16-20 at a time, erasing them from the old library then saving them to a new library. This is extremely time consuming. Additionally, if past experience is any indication, it is only a matter of time before the old problems re-emerge, preventing me from even being able to load the older,(newest too by the way) photos in my larger libraries.

As I have you online now, I JUST sent another message asking about my subscription. I was given a free year subscription due to my many continuing problems. This free subscription is to expire Jan. 08, 2015. However, I have been getting messages telling me that my subscription expires soon. TOMORROW, in fact. I have asked about what I need to do to continue between subscriptions but the only reply I received was asking about which product I was referring to. i quickly answered but have received nothing further on it. My current paid subscription expires tomorrow. Free subscription is to expire Jan. 08, 2015. I have the email and a screen shot of the email awarding the free subscription if they would be helpful.

Don't hold your breath that this library transfer feature will appear. I posted his originally 1 year ago and it's still on the future wish list.

When is this very basic, needed, feature going to be added! There are many reasons for wanting and needing to move photos between libraries!

Also, we need a feature to see which photos have NOT been added to an album.

I've only just signed up for revel and have hit this as my first problem! My whole phone camera roll uploaded into one library mixing work with personal - now I have to choose whether to go through and filter out several hundred pictures and then have to upload them to another new library! how awkward - think I may not bother with revel!

A new Revel user (of half an hour) auto upload has put all my phone photos into one library (mix of personal and work) - I now have the choice to delete several hundred pictures and then upload the same ones again to a new library, or to not bother! the latter is more appealing given the pain it's going to be! why doesn't this feature exist?!?!? given the promotion of sharing libraries etc.

Again don't hold your breath, I posted this almost 18 months and still nothing. No doubt it is on the notorious development path with no timelines.

The aim is to be able to prepare albums that have pictures from different libraries.
For instance an album that consolidates pictures from iphone library, camera library, business library and family library.
To be able to do that: one can download the picture from a library to PC (or device) and then upload the same picture to the other library.
This way one creates redundant copies.
That is wasting AdobeRevel's server memory. Isn't it?

If we were able to create albums independent from the libraries. My problem would be solved.
