Move the program to a different computer?

I wasn't sure how to search for the particular question that I have... so I'm just going to ask it instead of hunt it down.  When I was really young my dad bought me a Photoshop program and I loved it so much.  Unfortunately, he doesn't want to use the computer anymore so a bunch of stuff clutters that room now and he never turns on the computer anymore.  I simply cannot access it.  I asked him if it was possible to move it to my computer because I will actually USE it... but he said I simply need to take the entire computer and move it to my room.

Is there anyway at all to just take the program off that computer and put it onto my own computer?  (I have a feeling he also threw away or lost the CD holder that goes with it... it make me want to pull my hair out.)

If not... then instead of a question lets this be an idea... can you guys please make it possible to uninstall Photoshop then reinstall it onto a different computer.  (edit: assuming the person kept the important info to do that)

It mainly depends on the version of Photoshop. If it is a really old version, then it will be difficult to install it on another computer without having the original CD and the license number. If it is Photoshop CC, then all you need is his login details. You can then download and install the CC app (Creative Cloud) first, and from within that app you can install Photoshop. It will be downloaded, so you need an internet connection. The CC license allows you to install Photoshop on two computers, so this is all perfectly legal and you don't even have to uninstall it from the other computer first.
