Move Lightroom Classic CC to a new computer?

Are there any special considerations when moving lightroom classic cc to a new computer?  I have read the articles I can find and most are about either migrating to lightroom cc or moving lightroom classic from one computer to another.

I have a simple setup with only one collection sync'ed to the cloud.  Aside from moving the base image files, catalog, etc to the new computer and starting lightroom classic cc, is there anything else that needs to be done to get the cloud wireup right?

Hi David, the first thing to remember: do sign off your previous installation of LR on your old PC. that is basically telling Adobe that you won't use it any longer (license). 2) do make a complete backup of your catalogue on an external drive ideally the day you want to migrate. you can download LR Classic at adobe.xx but first download Creative Cloud software. the connection to your cloud will be done by Adobe automatically

Follow these instructions and you'll be safe. https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-move-lightroom-to-new-computer/  Cloud stuff should sort itself out.

Victoria,

I found your excellent article before posting this question.  It misses the signout step which Christian noted and I found on one other post.  Without this the cloud sync will probably not work.  You might want to try it and update your article if appropriate.

Well spotted, thanks, I've just updated it. Cloud sync would still work fine, but if you came to install on yet another computer, you might need to reset activations.
