More Flexible Licensing Options

A little background. About a year after CC launched, I bought CS6 on disc for a couple of reasons. One is a purely practical matter - the internet bandwidth required for CC amounts to about half of my monthly plan and large updates can easily put me over my monthly limit.

More important, though, is that I don't like the idea that if I stop paying, I cannot use the product. What happens if I lose my job? The industry isn't what it was and last time it was two years before I got regular work again. The last thing I need in that situation is another $50 a month going out or an inability to show a prospective employer that I can work to a brief.

I'd like to see a licensing model that allowed me to pay only for how much I use the product, on an hourly rate. Even at $10 an hour for access to all applications it would be a much better deal for me. It also means I could bill that cost to clients who insist I use Adobe products (I rarely do unless I have to).

Photoshop CC doesn't require any additional bandwidth beyond downloading the app and checking for updates. You can choose to sync files and libraries, but don't have to.

Of course it does. It requires at least a Gb of bandwidth to download those updates it keeps looking for.

Only when updates are available, which isn't all that often.
