I am happy to applause to latest new release of LR Classic. Still unresolved known bugs which are in since quite a long time, but to keep us happy new features which we all desperately waited for. Thank you Adobe.

Adobe needs to devote a couple releases to JUST bug fixes. Adding features can wait.

I agree! Although to be fair, there are different teams involved. Many of the bugs will require the LR team, whereas Enhance Details was an ACR team project.

Well, to be fair ... many, if not most customers could not care less how the sausage is made ... they simply desire for and should be sold a fresh product that is worthy of the investment.

The 'team' structure at Adobe is not the concern of the end user ... it doesn't matter to the customer whose responsibility it is to make the necessary corrections, only that the corrections are made in a timely fashion.

After all, there is no delay in Adobe receiving payment for their services each and EVERY month, there should be an equal level of urgency by the 'teams' (and Adobe management) for delivering fixes when their products fall short of expectations.

Yes, I know from my own company having created a very similar and complex image reviewing and management software around the same time and supporting and upgrading since them. We have worked around very similar issues and redesigning phases with hundreds of developers around the globe with all pros and cons...

The Develop module portion of Lr seems low in the bug count and works well except for speed issues but the Library module is FULL of bugs, many long term. It certainly voids Lr being a DAM when you can’t depend on search results due to the bugs.

Unfortunately John its not although FULL was not the word to use.  There are several issues concerning Date/Time, that are well documented and acknowledged that have been in Lr for a long time. I see these pop up in the forums on a regular basis and the answer is "Add your me too at this thread that has been acknowledged and maybe Adobe will fix it".  There are issues with character case working differently between the filters and smart collections.  I could list others but the fact is if you can't depend 100% of the time on your Library database selections it makes the DAM capabilities not useful. I have spent a significant amount of time helping document  detailed, repeatable scenarios of database selection issues that have been acknowledged and not fixed.  I think the new features are great but bugs need to be fixed too, especially database selection bugs and catalog integrity issues.

I still think that's an exaggeration, Bob, even after one strikes the word "full". I'd also characterize the issue not as bugs, but as a series of half-baked implementations. Sure, it's a minor miracle when anything is fixed (eg Title finally got an Is Empty criterion) but you know I know this area pretty well too, and "certainly voids Lr being a DAM"? I wouldn't remotely claim that.

Bugs or half baked implementations, if correct results are not returned than the DAM portion can not be depended on.

But the DAM can be depended on, and I doubt that I am any less demanding than you.
