A window opens when in open PS 12 telling me that my monitor profile needs to be calibrated. AOC 2343 comes up as well. I have no idea what this is all about.

What is "AOC 2343"?
What is the exact message you get about your monitor? Does it say that the monitor profile is invalid and can't be used?

Thank you for your swift reply. The message is as follows:
The monitor profile AOC 2343 appears to be defective. Please rerun your monitor calibration software.
AOC is the make of my monitor.
I am no expert on PCs and this is one of several problems which have cropped up since I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7.

OK, you need to replace the display profile in the OS system settings. For some reason the current profile for your display is corrupt and cannot be used. (that could have happened when Windows 10 installed new drivers and profiles)

If you know the colorspace of your display (sRGB or AdobeRGB most likely), you can set thatt as the display profile to at least get in the ballpark. Properly profiling the display takes separate hardware and a bit of time, and may not be needed unless you want very accurate color previews.
