Lightroom 2016.6: Mobile syncing stopped after update

Never ending story with Lightroom update causing trouble with the syncing to the Lightroom cloud. This time the whole thing stopped. Lightroom desktop is telling me, that are 255 photos syncing while doing nothing. To make things worse: The fency new sync activity list where I hoped that I can now spot the troubling files is completely empty. I can't spot any broken recent files on Lightroom mobile. Also any edits I made on Lightroom web won't be synced back to Desktop. It is basically broken :(

Also a little weird: The Version screen tells me, that this is Lightroom "2015.6" ;)

It is 2015.6.  They don't do a main number bump until later in the year usually.  Photoshop is still 2015 too.

Same happening here, it seems it wants to re-sync everything? Odd because nothing has changed since the update. Maybe it is just re-indexing or something?

I of course had to sign in again after the update, because it is very hard to keep a login on a local machine... But the login issue doesn't seem to be important https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom-always-signing-out-of-lightroom-mob...

The re-sync thing is a annoying procedure with almost every update - especially when you have several thousand photos in the Lightroom cloud and there is no chance to control or pause this process. Sometimes this is a matter of an hour, but I also had three days until this process was done. This time this was really quick, but at the end the sync stopped completely on my machine - until today :(
About the logout: I experience that problem if the machine has no internet connection when I start Lightroom. And if I just close Lightroom and restart it when I'm online, then it remembers the login - even though it sometimes still shows the login screen, that then can be ignored.

Short update after a few days: The "Re-Syncing" has suddenly started again. But I'm now facing 17K photos to go. The sync activity list is still empty though. But Lightroom mobile now is listing current collections again - of course without any images, as the sync process seems to run in order of the image date. So I have to wait until the process is done - maybe in a few days I can return to my mobile workflow.

Hi André,

Do you mean your synced collections were all removed and re-synced again after the update? Does this happen to you after every update?

Could you please send me the diagnostic log from Preferences->Lightroom Mobile, hold down the ALT/option key to notice the 'Generate Diagnostic Log' button.

Thank you,
Venkatesh

The collections were not removed, but Lightroom seems to run through all synced images and seems to retransfer them. Sometimes just some bits, sometimes it uses all CPU power and bandwidth (as Lightroom doesn't tell me, what it es doing in sync except for the number in the upper left corner, I just can assume with these other parameters.)
Right now the number has stopped at 25.117 and is not going up or down anymore. (Or just about the amount of images I add to new collections or remove them.) Lightroom does use CPU power for syncing as the usage goes down, when I pause the sync. How can I sent you the Diagnostic Log?

Hi all. I am experiencing the same symptom.
I updated 4 days ago. Desktop immediately started to resync my 40,600 sync'd photos. I left it running and went camping for Father's Day. Upon my return yesterday, it's now at 24,245 and it's changing very slowly (2-5 minutes per image)!
Preferences says no activity. (see below)
Further, the Father's Day album that I created last night has not made it to my iPad nor to LR on the web!
Help!
Nothing was removed from the iPad. Just no updates have reached it. The only big update was the new album of 211 images.
I've tried logging out and back in on iPad, web, and LightRoom desktop. Don't really want to "Delete All Data" and start over. I've done that before and it takes about a week to get caught up even though I have a high speed Internet connection.
iPad is reporting 40,614 images, which is all but last night's album of 211. iPad reports "All up to date".

Windows 10, 24GB Ram, 8-core processor (only about 25% busy with LightRoom!)

As the "re-sync" seems to work in order of the date the photos were taken, your last night album would be the last that will sync. So you can only cross fingers, that this process won't stop for whatever reason. Then it will only take several days until you're back to "normal". In my case I'm now stuck somwhere around 26K photos to sync. But there is no progress anymore. I have now seven new albums that are visible in Lightroom mobile, but empty as the sync is stucked somewhere some years ago. :(

Oh and a little tip: If the process is very slow - have a look at the memory usage. My Lightroom desktop software now likes to eat up all memory and slowing everything down. Looks like a bug. Therefore a restart of Lightroom desktop is helping. (But wait until it is out of the memory.)

Well, mine completed yesterday. 15 days with a few restarts for 40k images. Seems to be back to normal now, although seems a little sluggish compared to previous version. As for memory, I did watch. I have 24GB and LR consumed about 16GB at its peak. I'll see how it goes now. I'm headed on vacation to Spain next week so I'll be returning with a few thousand more pictures and will certainly be making some sync'd albums!

Lucky you! Mine is still stucked at 30k images - Lightroom mobile has become pretty much useless for me and at Adobe nobody seems to care. :(
