Photoshop CC 2019: Mixing brush: Wetness control not working correctly (even 2018 isn't working now)

Have not be able to control wetness of mixing brush at all in Photoshop CC 2019. I have been using Photoshop CC 2018 for all my mixing brush tasks. After the update to Photoshop CC 2018 I am now having the same problem controlling wetness setting. Regardless of what setting I use other than 1% wetness and 1% flow, the brush reacts as if I'm at 100% wetness.

I'm not able to reproduce your issue with any of my mixer brushes. If I change any of the settings, I get a different response. Have you tried resetting your tool (menu far left in the Options bar) or even deleting your preferences? Often when you update a full version, something in Preferences becomes corrupted as they rarely match exactly one version to the next. So if you've saved all your custom presets to your HD, I would try deleting preferences next. Then, if the issue stays unresolved, come back with your OS, screenshots of your brush settings that aren't working, etc.

Thanks! Deleting preferences seems to have done the trick! By the way, resetting tools had no effect.

Yeah, resetting tools usually isn't the issue, but it's the quickest and least pain in the patooti to do—so worth a shot before you get into having to do all the rest.

I try to look on the bright side when I trash prefs—a) I've thought to save custom presets I might have overlooked, and b) I have to go through all my prefs and get reminded of, or notice for the first time, some of the newer preferences. Do it often enough you can almost reset prefs blindfolded, or at least, practically brain dead, which is my preferred way of taking care of these housekeeping issues. LOL

Dude..it was driving me crazy!! Even installed Photoshop CC 2017 to make sure my brush setting were working the way I expected. Resetting the preference was not that painful. I still need to go back thru preferences more thoroughly but seeing that the mixing brush was now working was worth it!

Hi Willard, what OS/Version are you running Photoshop on? Are using a Wacom tablet or another input device?

Sorry for not providing information in the initial post. I had posted this issue before and was at the pulling what little hair I have left out.

Mac Pro (2013)
Mojave 10.14.1
Wacom Tablet

HOWEVER, issue resolved by deleting preferences. Something to keep in mind with the next update :)
