Mixer brush improvement suggestion - Add Sample Current layer and Current & Bellow layer options

I use mixer brush a lot for removing objects or skin retouching and often I need to use a solarize  layer on top of the layer I'm working on in order to do a better job and make sure that the brush strokes make the area even and look natural.

Recently, I started trying to work on a new layer so that my workflow is non destructive but I came to the following problem: in order to be bale to paint with the mixer brush on a new layer I need to turn on "sample all layers". However, if I have sample all layers turned on, I can no longer keep my solarize layer on as the mixer brush would sample that layer as well and paint some very strange colours onto my newly created layer.

The solution around this problem would be for the mixer brush to have the same options as the clone stamp tool where you can sample from Current layer, current & bellow and All layers.

Or, if anyone knows a work around this problem, please do let me know.

yes, this is a sadly, overlooked feature for the mixer. I'm not sure what the reasoning is, but this addition would be greatly appreciated.

I hope someone from Adobe will read this. I don't think it should be too difficult to implement hence they already have the exact feature in the clone stamp tool. But I might be wrong.
