Missing search function in Lightroom (and other issues)

Why is it that I can search for all sorts of variables in Bridge (camera orientation, ISO, exposure, aperture, focal length, lens, model, and etc.), but only a very limited number in Lightroom? This is annoying since I have an old Canon lens that doesn't show up when I click Enable Profile Corrections. I then need to manually sort through all the photos to find ones that were not corrected so I can manually correct them using a similar profile from a more recent lens where a profile is available.

Also, there should be some way to do a global change in Lightroom when I have changed things in Bridge. I sometimes make ratings changes in Bridge, but when I later go back into Lightroom the little exclamation mark shows up next to every image altered. I then need to go back and find all the ones I changed in Bridge and fix them in Lightroom. Very frustrating.

Are you using the Metadata Filter bar above the grid? At the top of each column is a small pop-up which you can change to show the type of metadata you want to search. This greatly expands the options available, including lenses.
