Lightroom CC: Missing Camera Profile warning on mobile

Until recently I've been using Lightroom CC and established an almost flawless mobile workflow - I set up a collection with some of my favorite adjusted VSCO looks on a sample picture - I could then just copy those develop settings in LR mobile and paste them onto RAWs which I imported on the go with a card reader to my iPad / iPhone. (This was the workaround for not having my develop presets from my PC available in LR mobile).

Now yesterday I upgraded my library to Lightroom Classic CC - and: BANG - In LR mobile I now get errors all over my VSCO look pictures claiming they would be missing the camera profile. The point is: It worked perfectly until I switched my library to Lightroom Classic CC. My mobile workflow I loved now is burning in flames, since I neither can edit any of my already developed pictures in my collections, since pretty much everyone of them has a VSCO look on them, nor can I copy develop settings from my look-samples.

Will this be fixed? How can such a big backlash happen, rendering my whole library pretty much unusable on LR mobile?

The warning is new, but the problem of missing profiles is not. Third party camera profiles have never synced to mobile, so they were just silently failing before. Now it's warning you that the result won't be identical to the desktop where your profiles are installed, so you can make an informed decision.

I was under the impression it wouldn’t fail at all. I’d add the preset on desktop, then make changes to only exposure, contrast, selections etc on my iPad. Again, I’d add the preset on my laptop, open lighroom on my iPad, see that the preset has been added to a photo and the changes have been synced to all my devices, and begin tuning in my iPad.

Do you have any insight on when third party presets/profiles will be supported on mobile? My entire workflow depends on it — I rather not go back to a laptop.

I can't share timings I'm afraid, but Adobe staff have publicly said it's a high priority.

Same here, Mow. This update has completely uprooted my workflow, which was the same as yours.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Camera profile created with ColorChecker is missing.

The problem is that I edit images with a profile assigned, which was created with ColorChecker. When I open the image in Lightroom for mobile iPad, he does not find the profile and just knows the Adobe standard profile.

Just want to chime in and add my voice here - also having the same problem, and the workflow I've been using (basic/quick edits on my desktop, finishing touches on my iPad during my train commute to/from work, and then exporting on my desktop) is broken, since it resets the profiles whenever I touch an already-edited photo on my tablet.

Oddly, I have ONE single profile from my desktop (160S - F from VSCO 7) that is somehow available in the profiles tab on my iPad, but no others.

And I'll add my vote too - Adobe, please add support for custom profiles to the mobile version!
And I'm not sure that this has been happening all along. I've edited many photos with custom profiles on my phone, without the profile changing when I looked at the image back in Lightroom Classic.

Agreed- this is the ONE feature I need most from Mobile CC. Without it, it makes this app useless to me as I have my presets built for how I like to process my images. What's the point of being mobile if I have to rebuild it every time ....

Adobe you are so innovative- PLEASE add / fix this. This would make your programs my default choice! (Due to the inability to save presets, I'm using Darkroom on my iPhone and iPad to speed up my workflow / post processing.)
