while working in photoshop cs6, it gets hung up when trying to open the mini bridge. Bridge works fine opened on it's own. It is just the mini bridge that failing. It doesn't go past "waiting on Bridge cs6"

I have this same problem (For CS6) and I have followed the referenced material. The only thing that worked for me was to create a new user account on my mac.

The problem is that I have tons of files in the user acc. that doesn't work and I can't get to them from the new user acc...... This sucks, is there a way to make it work in my regular user acct??

A new user account suggests there are permissions problems causing the problem. You could try a general "Repair Permissions" command on the affected user account. I have seen cases where OS upgrades and user migration assistant errors get things in a state where even this doesn't work. YMMV.

Personally, I'd bite the bullet and do some OS or user account clean up and migrate files to a new OS or user account. Sounds like there's some cruft in there. I tend to house clean every 12-18 months.
