A plugin can't do that. You would have to tie the controls into OS events with a driver, like tablet drivers do.

Palette is NOT the answer of my question!

My question was an universal Plug-In or another kind of software, which lets you use

ANY

Midi-Controller to control Photoshop Values.

Beside: Palette is too big and much, much too expensive.
(for just 50 Bucks you get more than 30 (!!!!) Knobs and Faders on an small Board, from the most MIDI-Control manufacturers)

Do somebody know, how to set absolute values e.g. for
brush size
brush fill opacity
brush flow
brush hardness

respectively

how to raise or lower a choosen value (like radius or strenght for USM)
with keystokes?

There is no API to do that. Again, it has to be done via OS events similar to the way tablet drivers already implement.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled PHOTOSHOP - USB MIDI controller to control tool and adjustment layer parameters.

Web professional here, I'm always looking for ways to improve my workflow and I think this would help!

A colleague recently told me that you could control tool and effects parameters with USB controllers using GIMP since v2.2. I had picked up a USB MIDI controller, so his comment had piqued my interest.

If I could hook up any of the 16 knob control surfaces on my unit to different parameters with some of the available tools it would be fantastic. Used with the adjustment layers it would make experimentation more intuitive and produce interesting results.

Thanks for reading. If you haven't planned on this feature, put it on the list please!

I would love to be able to use all the knobs on my midi keyboard to control things like brush size, opacity, etc.
