Metadata corruption in Photoshop CC and Bridge CC

When saving modified TIFF files (or saving as TIFF):

Photoshop CC

• Subject field is replaced with content of Title field converted from Unicode to ANSI (Photoshop CC).*
• Comment field content is imported from Title field (Info dialog).
• Some tags are repeated in truncated form (truncated to 40 characters).
• All other tags are truncated to 64 characters.

Bridge CC:

• Subject field content is imported from Title field (Info dialog).
• Tags are truncated to 64 characters.

* Originally reported for Photoshop CS3 some years ago. Unicode characters are converted to '?'.

Workaround:

Make a backup copy before editing to preserve original metadata. Review and correct metadata in Windows Explorer / Windows Live Photo Gallery after all operations.

Before someone says - 64 characters? Well, other applications support it, hierarchical tags easily reach this sort of length and scientific tags easily exceed 64 characters. As for Unicode, without it some topics can not be adequately described - for example, a Japanese name cannot be rendered adequately/correctly in ANSI.
