Why is it when you have 4 grayscale images and you try to Merge Channels (Pick CMYK and 4 Channels) when the Specify Channels window pops up they NEVER come in in the correct order?

Hi Brad,

The files populate the dialog to specify channel placement based on the order they were opened. We don't have logic in place to search file name and look for hints (C, cyan, Cyan, etc.).

So, if you can set up a naming convention that sorts your files C,M,Y,K in the open dialog, you should be able to get them ordering correctly. Bit of a pain, yes.

regards,
steve

First off, thank you for the speedy reply. That is MUCH appreciated.
If I save out a DCS 2 file, then open the 4 plate files (C,M,Y,K), convert them from Bitmat to Greyscale, then go to Merge Channels sometimes they come in in the right order but sometimes not. It's not a huge deal to go through and assign them to their proper channels. Thanks again.

Now, if you could just get Adobe to buy ZBrush or Mudbox and make it a part of the 3d tools within Photoshop that would be AWESOME. Then buy Wacom and make your own tablet that runs full blown version of Creative Cloud on it.

I know...keep dreaming.
