Menu Template problems in Premiere Elements 10

Problem 1: Inserting a background image into an HD template.
The image does not fill the full screen - narrow border around the screen. As a workaround, you have to use Photoshop to insert the image into the template psd file.

Problem 2: Creating a DVD using an HD project setting.
I created a timeline with HD 1080i clips - hence my project setting was Full HD 1080i 25fps. I exported this project successfully to AVCHD discs. I then wanted to export the identical project to DVD discs for those people without a blu-ray player. But the menus would not display properly (i.e. the main menu would only display as a 4x3 image with black bars either side, and the scenes menu, although in full widescreen, had issues with the navigation arrows - the highlighted arrows would not overlap the original arrows correctly). I figured this was because the menu I had used has an HD logo on it - if I used a non-HD template the DVD menus were fine. But I wanted to use the same template as for the AVCHD discs! As a workaround I tricked the software into using the SD template instead of the HD template by renaming the SD template with the HD file name. And it works. But it's a pain. Surely you should have the option of choosing an HD or SD template - it's not unlikely that somebody like myself would want to create a SD DVD using an HD timeline.

Could you check if the preset you used to burn to the DVD Disc was a Widescreen one or was it Standard Definition?
